1.2. Institutional Arrangements

The Social Responsibility Programme of the department is housed and managed within the Chief Directorate Social
Responsibility Policy and Projects of the department and falls within the Chief Operating Officer branch of the department.
The Chief Directorate consists of four directorates.

This process also took into account that the Social Responsibility Programme is implemented under the auspices of the
Expanded Public Works Programme and therefore the norms and standards that were developed are geared towards labour intensive construction in order to create job opportunities.
